The European Union’s annual “digital agenda scoreboard” shows that only half of the European labour force has sufficient IT skills to help them change job or find a new one.
The latest report found that while 43% of the EU population have medium or high Internet skills, nearly half of the labour force are not confident that their computer and internet skills are sufficient in this labour market. Almost 25% have no ICT skills at all.
The report also estimates that ICT vacancies across the EU will reach 700,000 by 2015.
