A good sign of the strong demand for skilled IT people in the Cork region is the new “Make IT in Cork” initiative.

It aims to attract skilled professionals to work in the local technology sector – over 10,000 people are already employed in more than 40 overseas ICT/technology companies in the city and county.

Make IT in Cork provides job opportunities and listings on its website, and information about relocating to Cork. As it says on its site:

“The explosive growth of the tech sector in Cork has created amazing career opportunities with some of the world’s best tech companies.

“Most of the tech companies in Cork sell and support software globally. This has created a huge demand for multi-lingual professionals, from entry level right up to executive level.

“These companies are also constantly looking for software developers and skilled IT professionals across the board.”

The site has the support of Cork Chamber and other business support organisations in the region, and is run by Cork-based software and social media company AssemblyPoint.
