“Smart Futures Start Here” is a schools-based careers campaign aimed at second-level students in Ireland, coordinated by DSE, ICT Ireland, ISA and Engineers Ireland and sponsored by Industry partners Microsoft, Ericsson, HP, SAP, Cisco, CPL, Openet, Xilinx, Dell, Storm Sunlife and Trilogy Technologies.
It seeks to engage with students, teachers, parents and guidance counsellors to raise awareness of employment opportunities in the ICT sector in Ireland.
An element of the campaign is a nationwide competition that asks students to create a piece of digital content reflecting the theme “Smart Futures”.
An online careers fair also took place from 23-27 January 2012 where companies answered live questions from students and guidance counsellors about how to get into ICT.
