Some of Ireland’s most experienced technology professionals have been sharing their ideas about technology and careers with the Smart Futures website. Philip Sharpe has over twenty years experience in the IT and telecommunications industry internationally.
He studied physics at Dublin City University. He founded CAPE Technologies and is now a Director of Danu Technologies, Socowave and Druid Software and is an executive council member of the Irish Software Association.
Although his background is in the technology industry, he says it’s a misunderstanding to think of technology as a sector remote from other activities.
“Technology is pervasive across all industries,” he says. “It’s changing all industries: it’s changing retail, it’s changing manufacturing, it’s changing everything. It’s what business is now.”
