Travel in time with the Computing Museum

The new Computing & Communications Museum of Ireland provides a fascinating insight into advances in communications and computing from ancient hieroglyphics to today’s Internet.

wide view museumThe array of electronic artefacts on display includes such iconic computers as the DEC PDP11, Apple II, IBM PC, Amiga, Sinclair ZX81 and the Commodore Vic-20.

Yet it is designed to be more than just a tribute to the past and a collection of historical artefacts. For it has a central tenet of inspiring today’s youth to consider science and engineering careers by highlighting the importance of ‘innovation’ to human progress and the crucial but oftentimes overlooked contributions of young people and of Ireland to advances in global communications technologies.
